Premier Marinas has bought the Boatfolk chain of marinas, making it the UK and Europe's biggest marina group. Funded by the Wellcome Foundation, Premier's owner, the deal sees the combined business running 22 marinas and almost 10,000 berths around the UK. For comparison, the next biggest marina group, MDL, has 18 sites in the UK and one in Spain totalling 7,000 berths.
