Al data clouds rise as Snowflake resets its enterprise core

Snowflake sharpens its Al Data Cloud vision with new intelligence tools, unified data layers and deeper SAP integration to help enterprises scale agentic Al.

Snowflake used its BUILD Virtual Media Roundtable 2025 to signal a decisive shift in its evolution—from a data-warehousing pioneer into a full-scale Al Data Cloud powering enterprise-grade agentic Al. The company unveiled a series of major updates, including the general availability of Snowflake Intelligence and Openflow, deeper interoperability through Horizon Catalog, and a landmark partnership with SAP.

These announcements underline a single theme: as Al becomes embedded across business functions, enterprises need unified, trusted and action-ready data more urgently than ever.

Christian Kleinerman, EVP of Product at Snowflake, said global adoption patterns reveal the same pressure point everywhere. “When organisations build Al agents, they need access to multiple, diverse datasets to provide contextual answers,” he said. If that data is not readily available, teams scramble to assemble assets “in a fire drill.”

He emphasised that Snowflake’s architecture is designed to balance access with sovereignty. “We have never attempted to move data automatically across regions because customers value control,” Kleinerman noted. “Instead, we give them the building blocks to anonymise, protect and analyse data securely across regions while fully respecting sovereignty requirements.”

SNOWFLAKE INTELLIGENCE ENTERS FULL RELEASE

At the centre of Snowflake’s announcement is Snowflake Intelligence, now generally available for its global customer base of more than 12,000 organisations. The enterprise intelligence agent is built to make data insights accessible to every employee through simple, conversational interaction.
