India's upgraded Akash Prime missile system achieved a milestone on 16 July 2025, when it successfully destroyed two high-speed unmanned aerial targets at altitudes above 4,500 metres in Ladakh. More than a battlefield validation, the trial marks the operational maturity of India's indigenous Radio Frequency (RF) seeker technology. This achievement strengthens the country's self-reliant defence and electronics capabilities.
