Kenny Holden thought his passion for golf would lead him to a career as a golf pro. But he found his true driver of success in real estate. When he was working in the golf industry 20 years ago, he had a cousin in real estate who kept encouraging him to go into the business. Kenny got the bug after attending a property release of luxury second homes and vacation rentals in Florida. Unlike traditional residential real estate--where it can take months or even years to sell a property--sales in the resort market move very quickly. The high-energy, fast-paced nature of the market appealed to him. “They sold all 300 properties in just one day, and it was super exciting. The next day I signed up to get my license,” he says.
When he was first starting out, Kenny cut his teeth working with developers and the resort community at Reunion Resort in Orlando. Eventually he accepted an opportunity to move on and open up a RE/MAX Realtec Group office in Orlando. Almost three years ago, he teamed up with his soon-to-be sonin-law, Austin Pack, and brought his cousin on board to ramp up his marketing efforts.
