The Parker-Garrick STUMPY was an anomalous pocket-size lead holder, always at the ready for those creative moments.
In the 1960s and '70s, the Parker Pen Co. was actively seeking to purchase companies outside its core writing instruments business.
At the annual stockholders meeting in June 1969, Parker President George Parker told shareholders, “The Parker Pen Co. is acquisition minded and further diversification is likely” (The Reporter, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, Saturday, June 21, 1969, p. 14).
