Each winner in the 31st Annual PW Readers' Choice Awards is an artistic masterpiece.

Art in Every Facet

The 25th anniversary is the silver anniversary, and to mark such an auspicious event, gifts of silver are often given. But when David Oscarson's fountain pens are already composed of sterling silver bodies, what are PW readers to give him? The answer is a Pen of the Year Readers' Choice Award.

The David Oscarson 25th Anniversary Collection Diamond and Gold Nouveau Special Edition is a remarkable fountain pen that showcases all the skills that he has accrued through the years: 10 colors of translucent and opaque hard enamels and 15 sections of guilloche engraving on a solid 18 karat yellow gold body festooned with diamonds along the surface. The Art Nouveau-inspired barrel decoration is a reproduction of Alphonse Mucha's 1899 lithograph "La Plume," while the cap and clip are inspired by Rene Lalique's famous Dragonfly-Woman corsage of 1900. The Diamond and Gold Nouveau Special Edition is Oscarson's third Pen of the Year win, with the most recent prior win being in 2012.

imageBut readers weren't done with Oscarson. Following up on his Best Cultural/Historical Theme RCA win in 2024, Oscarson has repeated the feat. The David Oscarson Edwin Hubble Collection wins that category in 2025 for the homage to the famed astronomer in astrally themed hot enamel and guilloche, showing the sheer range of Oscarson's work.
