THE UNDERWATER METRO: FIRST OF ITS KIND

With the increasing population of our country, the transportation means also are growing. With a population of such a huge number, we are handling the transportation surprisingly well. We are able to bring, implement and facilitate new means of transportation, while modifying and adapting the existing means to best suit the needs of local communities.

In the past few years or decades, we have been progressing at a higher rate to facilitate transportation and make this country a little easier to travel around. We have implemented centralized authorities, increased the fleet of vehicles available and have accomplished innovations in various modes of transportation. We have constructed high-speed highways, implemented regular trains, super-fast express trains, metro trains and even the latest super-fast venture, the Vande Bharat Express trains and more. A new addition to these developments is the Underwater Metro in Kolkata. Yeah, you read it right. Let’s dig in. Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation completed the construction of the tunnel in the year 2021. Airtel also announced that it had plans to enhance connectivity for passengers of under water metro by providing high-speed, reliable connectivity by setting up high-capacity nodes. These high-capacity nodes are to be installed about 35 meters below the surface of the River Hooghly.
