South African businesses who had stalls at the Gulfood Exhibition in the United Arab Emirates are pleased with the interest shown in their products.
-
South African food producers that recently showcased their products at the Gulfood Exhibition in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) garnered more than 4 000 promising trade leads, according to the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (DTIC).
This development showed that there was growing interest in what South Africa had to offer in the Middle East. The exhibition was held between 20 and 24 February in Dubai.
The department said that 16 agro-processing companies, including the South African Fruit and Vegetables Canners' Export Council, had showcased their products at a National Pavilion that was set up by the DTIC as a way to expand export opportunities for the local agro-processing sector.
