ARC donates zeolite-trial vegetables to community

The Agriculture Research Council (ARC) at Nietvoorbij in the Western Cape has embarked on an initiative to donate vegetables produced in its zeolite research trial to underprivileged communities.
Speaking to Farmer's Weekly, Nomkhosi Ngcobo, public relations officer at the ARC, said the vegetables would initially be donated to the Stellenbosch Night Shelter, with future recipients including old age homes and schools in disadvantaged communities.
"By doing this, our research not only uncovers valuable insights to help farmers become more efficient and sustainable, but we also make a difference in our communities," Ngcobo said.
