Material handling equipment have become more rampant across sites as larger projects need materials movement
Material handling equipment (MHE) are a common sight everywhere where any construction is ongoing. They are not confined to warehouses alone anymore now. Rapid urbanisation in India has increased the need for efficient vertical transportation of construction materials. With the rise of high-rise projects, where space is limited and timelines are strict, material handling has become a strategic necessity, not just an operational task. This logistical challenge of moving construction materials from ground level to towering heights requires meticulous planning, precision equipment, and innovative logistics.
As far as logistics is concerned, material handling equipment, the silent hero of industrial efficiency, plays a central role in every warehouse or logistics hub. These mechanical wonders form the foundation of modern industries, managing the movement, storage, and retrieval of goods with speed and accuracy. The evolution of material handling equipment, including automated conveyors and advanced robotics, has dramatically transformed the production and distribution landscape. This transformation has optimised workflows and significantly contributed to economic growth.
The “Material Handling Equipment Market Outlook” report from Grand View Research shows that the Indian MHE market reached $5.4 billion in 2023 before it is anticipated to grow to $8.7 billion during 2030 at a projected 7.2% CAGR from 2024 to 2030. A combination of rapid infrastructure development with smart cities expansion and logistics parks growth alongside increasing online retail adoption is fueling this surge for advanced warehousing and logistics solutions.
