A boutique hotel in London's Notting Hill offers residential luxury

IN LONDON, ONE of the world's most cosmopolitan cities, there are any number of famous grand hotels. So it was a pleasant surprise to find among them The Laslett, the only stand-alone hotel operated by Living Rooms, a unique collection of suites and residences situated at central London addresses, each combining the services of a hotel with the privacy and space of a home. Located at 8 Pembridge Gardens, Notting Hill, less than a minute from the Notting Hill Gate Underground station, it is an ideal base from which to explore the city. More than 50 guest rooms are spread across five Victorian mansions cleverly disguised as a stylish friend's town house, reflecting an authentic home-away-from-home vibe. Architectural and interior designers Waldo Works captured the heritage of Notting Hill, using inspiration from places like the nearby Portobello Road.
