The winners of one of the most prestigious accolades in the automotive world – the World Car Awards – have been announced.

Now in its 22nd year and continuing its longstanding association with the New York International Auto Show, the 2026 edition reflected the rapidly evolving global automotive landscape, where electrification, innovation, and design excellence are more closely intertwined than ever before.

A jury of 98 distinguished automotive journalists from 33 countries, including Dhruv Behl, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of autoX, evaluated a diverse field of contenders. Winners were determined through a secret ballot, with vehicles assessed on performance, innovation, design, and global relevance. To qualify for the World Car of the Year, a vehicle must be produced in volumes of at least 10,000 units annually, be priced below the luxury segment in key markets, and be available across at least two major global regions between January 1, 2025, and March 30, 2026.
