OLIVER LONGTERMER SUZUKI GSX-R125

The GSX-R-125. My first ever bike. And it is brilliant. My name is Oli Hartshorne, and I am as new to bikes as they come, only 400 miles in and still with the stiff arms, wide eyes when those fast corners come round, and maybe the occasional stall.

In those 400 miles, however, I have certainly crammed in some good rides. Watching the bike turn up in the back of the van had me feeling like a kid at Christmas, and when I sat on it, I felt like Valentino Rossi.

Now, I'm no expert when it comes to bikes so don't expect the technical side from me. I want to show the experiences and thoughts of a new rider in 2025. Due to my limited background in 'knowledge,' what grabs my attention in bikes is looks - and the GSX-R125 does this. The body of the bike, for one, makes it hard to not turn your head as it rides by. Along with its white and blue paint work and the signature GSX-R logo, it all comes together in a bike that certainly makes up for the notorious speeds of a 125. Its single headlight incorporates the classic look of the GSX-R's, making you feel part of the club - and obviously becomes very handy at night. One feature I like regarding the headlight is a bit of a more unique design; not only does it have the main single headlight in the middle, but it also has two either side as well, which become most obvious during use as it gives an imposing glare. For me, it is these subtleties that really put together a good-looking bike.
