District Version of PMGatiShakti National Master Plan for 27 aspirational districts

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, launched the district version of the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan for 27 aspirational districts, marking the third anniversary of the PM GatiShakti initiative.

The launch represents a major milestone in India’s infrastructure planning efforts, with plans to expand the District Master Plan to more than 750 districts over the next 18 months. This expansion will enable localised infrastructure development focusing on efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and high-quality outcomes. Speaking at the event, Goyal called the PM GatiShakti Master Plan a “super-intelligent tool” that will revolutionise infrastructure planning, not only for India but also as a model for other countries in the future. In conjunction with this launch, the Minister introduced the ‘Guidelines for Preparing City Logistics Plans for Indian Cities,’ which will provide a framework for cities to develop logistics plans that reflect their unique characteristics and needs, further enhancing the vision for tailored, sustainable urban infrastructure.
