Fully Hybrid Workspace

Toyota RAV4 HIGHS: Responsive and linear acceleration, easy-to-use touchscreen, lots of convenient features. LOWS: Noisy engine, unimpressive interior materials, seems dull by design.

But we haven't noticed any such response to Toyota's decision to offer several of its core models, the latest being the bestselling RAV4, exclusively as hybrids. Some people prefer Diet anyway, and Toyota has been working for years to get people used to the flavor of its gas-electric powertrains.

In the outgoing RAV4, the hybrid and plugin hybrid (PHEV) models were quicker, quieter, and more fuel efficient than their gas siblings. In 2024, about half of the 475,193 RAV4s sold were hybrids.
