No plans for pure-electric version of Suzuki Jimny

HOPES for an electric version of Suzuki's Jimny have been dashed after the brand's president said an EV would "ruin the best part of the Jimny."

The fourth generation of the small 4x4 arrived in 2018, but has only been available as a van in the UK since 2020 due to its high emissions, and even that version will be axed next year.
Back in January 2023, an official product plan featured the instantly recognisable silhouette of the pocketsized 4x4, hinting that a Jimny EV would be one of the five EVs the Japanese brand would launch in Europe by 2030.
