In a significant move to strengthen its footprint in India's rapidly evolving industrial landscape, SEW-EURODRIVE India has inaugurated its new Drive Technology Centre (DTC) in Chennai. Positioned in one of South India's fastest-growing manufacturing corridors, the facility is expected to enhance the company's responsiveness, assembly capability and lifecycle support for customers across southern and eastern India.
The investment underlines SEW-EURODRIVE's long-term vision for India, where industrial automation, infrastructure growth and manufacturing modernisation are driving demand for advanced motion and drive technologies. Conceived with a future-oriented perspective, the new DTC has been designed not merely as an assembly unit but as a scalable platform capable of supporting the next phase of industrial expansion in the country.
Spread across 12.27 acres, the facility encompasses 21,350 sq. m. of assembly and service infrastructure. The scale of the development reflects the company's confidence in India's growth trajectory and the increasing need for localised manufacturing and support capabilities. With customers across sectors such as automotive, material handling, warehousing, food processing, steel, cement and heavy engineering increasingly demanding faster response times and higher operational reliability, regional support infrastructure is becoming a critical differentiator.
Focus on Future-Ready Manufacturing
