Daewoo is a well-established brand known for its deep roots in the automotive sector. The globally renowned brand is associated both with cars and Heavy Commercial Vehicles, with entities like Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle after Tata Motors acquired Daewoo Commercial Vehicle Company in 2004. Fast forward to late 2025, the brand is back in India after its rebranding as POSCO International. It has entered India under a strategic licensing collaboration with Mangali Industries Ltd.. With a premium range of high-performance lubricants designed for a wide variety of vehicles, from two-wheelers and passenger cars to commercial and agricultural vehicles, Vineet Singh, Director - Strategy & Growth, Daewoo, hailed the brand synonymous with innovation, trust, and performance. “Through this powerful alliance between Daewoo and Mangali Industries Ltd., we are shaping the future of high-performance lubricants in one of the world’s most dynamic and demanding markets. With this launch, we embark on a long-term journey dedicated to empowering the Indian automotive industry.”
The Strategic Entry
India’s lubricants market is poised for steady growth, with an estimated volume of 3.01 billion litres in 2025 projected to reach 3.79 billion litres by 2030, reflecting a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 4.76 per cent over the forecast period as per Mordor Intelligence report. Sang-hwan Oh, DGM, POSCO — Korea, conveyed his enthusiasm about the launch and emphasised Daewoo's dedication to quality and customer satisfaction, ensuring that every product meets rigorous international standards, while adapting to the evolving demands of local consumers will be the key to tapping into this growth potential.
