DUAL PERSONALITY
August 2025
|Architect and Interiors India
Founder and Principal Designer, Chestnut Storeys, Farah Agarwal, sheds her mask. And speaks about what it means to be savage and yet have substance rolled into one personality.
-
Three adorable kids, oldest seeking high school admission, and the youngest getting ready for kindergarten while a fiesty girl in the middle adding sunshine of the house, Farah’s life pendulates between her HNI clients, known popularly in the film and sports industries across the country, and her little monsters, while in between, she brings her energy to the drawing board with bold design statements and ever-evolving palette of styles.
You will often see her pushing the boundaries of design to craft a lifestyle and create a legacy that nurtures, inspires, and sparks joy. “My children have often accompanied me to my sites, been part of work discussions, and are aware of my achievements and failures. I feel like this is my way of teaching them how to face the world while spending time with them doing things I love”, she shares.
For Farah, interior design is a medium of artistic expression that allows her to blend methodical thinking with creative exploration. Her analytical approach to space-making ensures that every project is visually compelling, beautifully composed, and deeply functional. This delicate balance between creativity and clarity distinguishes her work, imbuing each space with meaning, a sense of self, and enduring relevance. As she aptly says, “The greatest luxury isn’t one that is visible in the design, it's the beautiful marriage of artistic vision with business precision."
In a candid conversation with Sumisha Gilotra, Editor, Architect and Interiors India, she shares how she juggles the different pieces of her life and puts up the perfect show that not just looks good but deeply satisfies her from within.このストーリーは、Architect and Interiors India の August 2025 版からのものです。

MUSING MUSEUMS
A few months back, when I was in Budapest, I walked into a building that left me awestruck. The inquisitive me went on to explore, and I discovered that it was a museum with pixels on the exterior and that the curved structure of the building dipped underground to form the interiors, even as the garden I was walking on was the green roof of the building that interjected at street level! Woah! I quickly took some pictures and went on to research this building, and the more I read about it, the more I fell in love with it. And then of course I had to share it with you all!
