"At first, we didn't want to cross the Sea Link," laughs Mira Kapoor-referring to the physical (and metaphorical) symbol that connects north and south Mumbai-as the cofounder of Akind Beauty tells me about zeroing in on the perfect home for herself, actor husband Shahid Kapoor, and two children, Misha and Zain.

Previously, the Kapoors were living in Juhu, in a three-bedroom-hall-kitchen apartment that Shahid had bought and converted into a bachelor pad. "Six months later, we got engaged; six months after that, we got married; and then I found out I was pregnant. So while we changed [things] around the apartment to fit one baby, when I was pregnant with my son, we started really looking."

When Shahid visited a luxury high-rise in Worli, he liked it so much that a heavily pregnant Mira was taken there for her opinion. "It wasn't at all what we were looking at the location, the size, even in terms of the budget we had in mind. But when I walked in, I knew it was home."
