A WIN in the conditions (level two), riding Boss Man Fred for trainer Max Comley and The Cotswold Stars Partnership, kick-started a double for jockey James King. The 10-year-old by Dubai Destination has had problems with leg injuries, but has been nurtured back to health by his connections over the past 22 months after enjoying some success under Rules with Dan Skelton.
"He got into a nice rhythm and galloped and jumped well, and probably could have gone round again," said James. "It was great to get his head in front. Hopefully a few staying tests later in the spring will be right up his street."
James then took the mixed open on Grace A Vous Enki for trainer Nicky Sheppard and owner Joan Hitchings to complete his double. The eight-year-old by Dream Well has now won four from four.
