For months, Ben Affleck – famous for his rugged American hero good looks – has been appearing more gaunt, pale, and sad seemingly by the day. And after being dumped by Cuban beauty Ana de Armas following their steamy 10-month-long relationship, during which she was spotted wearing a whopping diamond on her ring finger, friends fear the 48-year-old recovering alcoholic has hit a new rock bottom.

“Ben pinned a lot on his time with Ana,” says a source. “He thought it was forever, but apparently she had other ideas. With all his issues and her being only 32, it was a lot of pressure on Ana. His friends are privately unsurprised that she walked away, but they’re worried sick for Ben now that he’s on his own again.”

Since splitting from Jennifer Garner after 10 years of marriage in 2015, Ben has rebounded through several relationships – including Saturday Night Live writer Lindsay Shookus, nanny Christine Ouzounian and Playboy model Shauna Sexton – but he could never move on from his wife, who was always there to pull the bottle out of his hand when he was teetering on the edge, regardless of who he was dating.
