Perhaps one of the most famous forests, thanks to its association with Robin Hood, Sherwood is also home to ancient oaks, including the legendary Major Oak. Said to be around 1,000 years old, with a canopy reaching 28 metres, this colossal tree can be found near the village of Edinstowe.
Sherwood is also a brilliant place to enjoy with your dog, with miles of woodland and heathland to explore. With special marked trails offering stunning scenery – it’s idyllic.
