SOOTHING ALOE VERA

The use of aloe vera as a hair-loss remedy dates back to the ancient Egyptians, according to University of Hawaii researchers. The succulent plant contains proteolytic enzymes that directly promote healthy hair, eradicating dead skin cells on the scalp that could otherwise be clogging follicles and preventing growth. Aloe vera’s alkalising properties can help bring your scalp pH to a more optimum level, resulting in further hair growth promotion, while helping hair retain water and moisture. Aloe is also a great reliever of scalp psoriasis, reducing the redness, scaling, itching and inflammation associated with this condition. It’s also a great conditioning agent, as the gel-like substance in the leaves has a similar chemical composition to keratin – the naturally occurring protein in hair cells. This similarity allows it to penetrate the hair shaft with its goodness more easily.
