Move! reader tells of how her mother was nearly killed by her abusive father

I’M a 24-year-old woman who grew up in an abusive home. Growing up, my father used to beat my mother up so bad that he almost killed her. I’ll never forget the day when my parents went to Durban in KwaZulu-Natal to visit my paternal grandmother.
