Gugu Zulu believes that the movie, She Is King, gave her the big break she needed

MULTI-TALENTED actress, singer, songwriter and dancer, Gugu Zulu, has been given an opportunity to showcase her talents in the new South African movie, She Is King. The 24-year-old from KwaZulu-Natal plays the leading role in the musical and stars alongside Khabonina Qubeka and Khanyi Mbau.

HER BIG BREAK

There was no time for jitters when Gugu was head-hunted by the movie director. She had to get into her element and believe that she could do justice to the role despite her inexperience as a lead actress.

“It was surreal that they wanted me to be the leading character for a role I did not even audition for. Honestly, at first I thought it was a joke,” she says.
