Smooth like butter

Action cameras and iPads are like tattoos, you don’t need one but you always want one. Unless you’re a professional in which case having them brings bread and butter. Redbull athletes and their antics can’t be captured by an iPhone 13 so the first thing the GoPro needs to ensure is durability and for that, it’s the most action-ready camera.

The thing is built like a rock. It’s slightly thicker and heavier than the GoPro Hero9 Black but you can’t tell the difference unless you hold both GoPros in your hand. The metal casing with the soft-touch material on the body gives a familiar feeling. Everything is familiar yet slightly better. You can also use all your GoPro Hero9 Mods with the 10 and you can remove the lens glass and add a Max Lens Mod as well but that will be supported through a software update later this month.

However, the crowning feature remains invisible. Actually, it’s tucked away beneath that robust exterior. There’s a new processor inside the Hero10 Black and it’s focused on increasing camera performance and making the UI slicker and faster. And boy does it deliver!

Slick kicks

The UI navigation is much better and smoother than the previous generation GoPros. According to GoPro the all-new GP2 processor should last them the coming years. Aside from better camera performance, it helps with increasing the touch response of the display itself.

Double trouble

Everything is almost doubled. You can record at 5.3K@60, 4K@120 and 2.7K@240. These increase in frame rate make the GoPro much more capable than the 9 Black. Especially the new 240 slo-mo on 2.7K resolution. It brings crispy details to your slow motion videos and action shots.
