TRIBIT STORMBOX MICRO 2
₹5999 / tribit.com
When you want to take your W tunes to the beach, there are three key things you want from a portable speaker. First of all, it has to sound good. Secondly, it really needs to be waterproof and sand-proof. And thirdly, it shouldn't be so heavy that you'll regret putting it in your beach bag. This little belter delivers on all three.
The multi-award-winning StormBox Micro 2 is roughly the size of two drinks coasters yet it delivers properly good bass, which is rare in speakers so small. It has IP67 water/dust-resistance, and at 315g it weighs not much more than a phone. It also doubles as a powerbank, with a USB-C port for charging other devices.
Pair-weather friends
Of course a speaker this small isn't going to be ideal to soundtrack a banging beach party, but if it's just for you and your family it's more than loud enough to set the mood without annoying your fellow holidaymakers - and if you really want more noise you can pair two for impressive stereo.
With up to 12hrs from a charge it has enough stamina for a full day at the beach or by the pool, and its size means you can take it pretty much anywhere. You can even strap it to the handlebars of a bike or the straps of a backpack to have music on the move.
Peal-good hit of the summer
The StormBox Micro 2 was such a popular launch it sold out almost immediately across the country. In theory, new stock should have arrived by the time you're reading this.
Go with the throw
This second-generation model is 1W louder than its predecessor (10W instead of 9W), and it has improved bass response and Bluetooth 5.3 for better stability and battery life.
