SAMSUNG QN900A
Stuff India
|September 2021
If the past 18 months has convinced you that staying at home watching telly is what you’d like to do for the next few years, you could probably get away wit`1h shelling out for an 8K TV and not leaving the house again until 2030.
-

Right now, investing in a set with over 33 million individual pixels – well, a 4K one can only offer a measly 8.3 million – is classic future-proofing. There’s pretty much zero 8K content out there to watch at the moment, certainly from the major streaming services and broadcasters, but the Samsung QN900A will be ready when there is.
So what’s the point in buying one right now? Well, for starters it’s an absolute work of art. All the cables are housed in a separate One Connect box, which means the TV is wafer-thin despite only coming in a whopping 85in size. The bezels around the screen are teeny too.
But it’s on the QLED screen itself that the real masterpieces are to be found. Even though the QN900A will spend 99.9% of its time using AI-assisted guesswork to upscale 4K or HD content, the pictures are dazzling. It makes Ultra HD sources look better than most 4K televisions do, with an amazingly wide colour palette and formidable contrast. White tones stay clean, bright and meticulous, thanks in no small part to the 480 lighting/dimming zones behind all those pixels. It’s got a vice-like grip on movement too, no matter whether it’s fast or slow.
