Hussain Leads A Herts Attack And A Place In History
The Cricket Paper
|September 01, 2019
IT WAS a case of remembering how to celebrate for skipper Reece Hussain and the rest of the Hertfordshire players as they ended a 29-year trophy drought with a nine-wicket win over Dorset in the Minor Counties T20 final.

Hussain’s impressive 67 helped to set Buckinghamshire a target of 180-8 in the semifinal at Wormsley last Sunday before tidy figures from Ben Waring and Tanveer Sikandar saw them fall 12 runs short.
Dorset’s 11-run win over Lincolnshire saw them progress to the final but were swept aside with ease as man of the match Harry Ellison and the returning Ben Frazer hit their stride with bat and ball.
Opener Felix Organ managed only one boundary in his unbeaten 48 to set Iain Fletcher’s side just 105-9 before Ellis struck 68 off 40 balls to ensure Hertfordshire were home and dry with nine wickets and seven overs to spare.
“Because we haven’t had any success in such a long time, we weren’t really sure how we should celebrate,” said 23-year old Hussain, the nephew of former England skipper Nasser.
