The remarkable rise of Afghan cricket continues. Afghanistanis war-ridden and poor, with problems that make everyone else’s look quibbling. It’s not even a member of the Commonwealth.
But all this proved no drawback to them in the Asian Cricket Council U19 Cup.
The early shocks were that India were eliminated in the group stage, beaten by Bangladesh and Nepal. That’s the Indian U19 side that recently thrashed England. In the other group Afghanistan and Pakistan came through to the semifinal.
