International cricket has always been dominated by batsmen who have shown class, temperament, and form that is beyond ordinary. From the 90s, there has been a tradition of seeing greatness in terms of four fine batsmen in the world. Be it the Fab Four of Indian Test team in terms of Sachin, Rahul, Laxman, and Ganguly, or the World Fab Four of Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, Ricky Ponting, and Jacques Kallis, sometimes replaced with Inzamam ul Haq, batsmen have dominated cricket. Continuing that tradition, the era post-2010 saw the meteoric rise of another Fab Four predominantly led by Indian skipper Virat Kohli and includes Australia’s Steve Smith, Kiwi captain Kane Williamson and English Test leader, Joe Root. Now, at the turn of the decade, cricket pundits are talking about the development of another Fab Four, which would replace the current one in 4-5 years’ time.
