One-time pro-alpine skier Kat Smart is thriving at Celtic under Eddie Wolecki Black

SIGNED to the Hoops in January this year, Kat Smart has and continues to be an integral part of Eddie Wolecki Black’s Celtic revolution. This year, the Hoops women’s side have closed the gap on the league’s biggest teams – Glasgow City and Hibernian – and now target a Champions League spot between now and the end of the campaign.

Highlights of the season so far include wins over Hibernian and Rangers, while a narrow 1-0 away defeat at the hands of Glasgow City underscored the progress the players have made. With all to play for between now and the end of the campaign, the Celtic View caught up with Smart.

You joined Celtic in January. How have you enjoyed your time at the club so far?

I’ve really enjoyed my time so far at Celtic. Eddie’s knowledge of the game is incredible, he’s the best coach I’ve ever come across, and he’s really helped me develop as a player. I’ve had a really positive experience and it’s great to be part of a team that’s progressing towards even more success and challenging the top two. That was the ultimate goal at the start of the season.

Prior to football, you were a professional skier?
