Christopher Jullien produced an outstanding performance in the recent win at Ibrox, and the French defender believes he and his team-mates will just keep getting better

Derby Debut Delight

CHRISTOPHER Jullien played his eighth competitive game for Celtic in the recent Glasgow derby and produced his most impressive performance to date in the green and white Hoops.

The French defender earned the Man of the Match award for his display in the heart of the Celtic defence, helping Neil Lennon’s side deliver a dominant 2-0 victory over their city rivals.

It was a game and a result that Jullien enjoyed, and came off the back of a 4-1 midweek win in Sweden over AIK which booked Celtic’s place in the group stages of the UEFA Europa League.

For good measure, the Frenchman also scored his first goal for his new club in Stockholm’s Friends Arena.

“It was a perfect first derby for me because we got the win, so it’s a good first step,” he told the Celtic View. “Everything about the game, including the atmosphere, was really good. It was a good feeling on the field and when you finish a game like that with a victory, it was really good.

“I was really focused. I had a chat with the manager and I was really focused. Before this game we knew it was an important week. I just did my job. After I received the Man of the Match award, I said every one of the players deserved it because we all did a really good job on the field.
