Calmac On Course As Celts Sail To Another Final

Callum McGregor hails the Hoops’ Hampden heroics.

AS Sunday’s action against Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup semi-final unfolded, it was clear that Celtic’s attacking midfield would be a key ingredient in the recipe for reaching a sixth successive domestic cup final.
Yet again, Callum McGregor played an enormous part in that midfield mix as Celtic focused on the job in hand, controlled the game, and took the honours long before the final whistle sounded.
The midfielder said following the 3-0 win over the Pittodrie side: “It was another successful day for the club and we got into another final. That’s what we set out to do when we arrived at Hampden, so the objective has been reached.
“In that middle third of the game, the scoreline probably could have been anything we wanted it to be. We got the three goals but it probably could have been four or five, but we’ll take the three and move on to the final.
“Obviously that first half-hour was really competitive and the sending off sort of killed them as far as their man-marking system went. We started to get on the ball and play a bit of football. That’s the thing for us, we want to get the ball down and play between the lines.
