Dr. Rajendra Prasad was appointed as the first President of India after independence. At that time, the monthly salary of the President was fixed at Rs. 10,000 per month. However, Dr. Rajendra Prasad took only 50% of his salary every month! Why? He claimed that the 50% amount was sufficient for meeting his requirements. Not just that! Towards the end of his 12-year tenure, he took only 25% of his salary.

This is a snapshot of a house in one of the villages in Maharashtra. Can you notice something peculiar in this image?
Well, this village, known as Shani Shingnapur, is located in Nevasa Taluka of the Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra, India. The most striking feature of this village which pulls everyone's attention is the 'absence of doors'! Yes, in this village, since generations, people have been living in the houses which have no doors. There is no provision of doors even in the shops. No lock and key practice either! Why? It is because no one steals there, as 'stealing' is a heinous sin in their eyes that brings the wrath of God. No theft has ever been reported in this village! What a commendable inspiration for humankind!
