EVERY PHOTOGRAPHER AT SOME POINT MIGHT HAVE CAPTURED IMAGES THAT MIGHT BE SLIGHTLY UNDER OR OVER EXPOSED. BUT WITH THE HELP OF THESE TIPS YOU CAN CORRECT AND FIX SOME OF THE ERRORS THAT MIGHT HAVE OCCURRED WHILE CAPTURING THE IMAGE. IT IS ADVISABLE TO GET THE BEST IMAGE RIGHT IN THE CAMERA IN FIRST PLACE AND NOT BE DEPENDENT ON POST-PROCESSING. 1. Brightening up the image

Sometimes your images might showcase too many shadows because the camera tries to avoid over exposing the picture. do note that, over exposed images are very tough to recover than under exposed ones. and if your image is under exposed and you do not want a dramatic or moody look then you should adjust the brightness in post-processing. Images which are properly exposed are better at catching the viewer’s attention. you can adjust the brightness and contrast according to your needs and while doing that always have a look at the histogram and make sure that you do not loose details in the highlights.

And there are times that you may end up with small area of blown out highlights. at such times you can adjust them by editing a selective part and pull the highlights down again. with sunset or sunrise images or high contrast images, you cannot play with exposure because you will end up with blown up highlights. In such a situation use the shadow slider to brighten the darker areas in the photograph.
