Pushcart Press releases third book by McCall

“What I want them to take away from Rob’s recent book, (Some Glad Morning: Holding Hope In Apocalyptic Times), is the solace it gives us about the earth persevering beyond us,” said Pushcart Press publisher Bill Henderson, during an interview in McCall’s backyard Tuesday, September 1. “Nature is stronger by far than we are now, and we’re not going to destroy it. It’s hope for the future, which we don’t have much now, including myself.”

In the midst of the COVID-19 global pandemic that has claimed more than 180,000 lives in the U.S., nationwide protests demanding racial equality under the law, record-breaking numbers of Americans who are unemployed, facing evictions and trying to survive an uncertain future, McCall wants to offer “hope to our apocalyptic times.” Pastor Emeritus of The First Congregational Church of Blue Hill, McCall is the author of two previous Pushcart Press books: Small Misty Mountain and Great Speckled Bird.
