Researchers Use Cumulative Infection Data From 12 States To Study Covid Trends

Researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad have developed a unique model that can help predict the future spread of Covid-19. The objective: to help the government take policy-decisions related to the treatment of patients, contact tracing, and workforce required to fight the pandemic.
As part of the research, titled ‘using epidemic simulators for monitoring an ongoing epidemic’, the researchers from the biomedical engineering department of IIT-H studied Covid-19 data from 12 states, between mid-March and mid-April, to predict infection trends in the succeeding 10-day period.
