Union Cabinet Clears NPR Update, Census

Decennial head count will be conducted in two phases

A meeting of the Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Tuesday approved over ₹3,941.35 crore for updating the National Population Register (NPR) across the country, barring Assam, and ₹8,754.23 crore for conducting the Census of India, 2021.
