UAE Consulate Under Scanner In Kerala Gold Smuggling Case

The UAE Consulate in Thiruvananthapuram is under scanner of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for a possible insider role, after two main accused landed in agency net. Both accused - Swapna Suresh, a former UAE Consulate employee, and Sandeep Nair, a businessman –cum-automobile workshop owner - were held and subsequently arrested after technical inputs. The duo has been shifted to a quarantine facility of Kochi jail on Sunday.
