At least 40,000 working with schools out of jobs in Mohali and Chandigarh

Paramjit Kaur (40) worked as a female school bus attendant before the coronavirus-imposed lockdown in March. She used to get ₹7,000 as monthly salary but has not been paid a single rupee in the last three months.

A widow, Paramjit Kaur, has two school going children. While the daughter is studying in the 12th standard, her son is in class 10.

Shouldering the family responsibilities, besides the school fees of her children, has become impossible for her who has no other source of income except her meagre monthly salary.

Things have gone beyond her means now. She has been compelled to borrow ₹ 7000 to buy the ration. She did not get any help from the school and the bus owners except some ration which was provided by a local NGO.
