I think gangsters knew Ana was pregnant when they killed her and my son Willie. They’re just...

THE heartbroken family of missing Willie Maughan should be looking forward to spending Christmas with their grandchild.

Instead they are still searching for the bodies of their murdered son and his pregnant girlfriend five years after they disappeared.

Devastated dad Joe Maughan believes Willie, 34, and his 21-year-old partner Anastasija Varslavane were kidnapped before being murdered and buried in an unmarked grave.

The couple were last seen in the Gormanstown area of Co Meath on April 14, 2015. Their bodies have never been recovered.

They were about to move to Tallaght, South Dublin, to be with Willie’s family the day they vanished.

It’s believed they were murdered by an organised criminal mob because one of them had key information about a gangland killing.

It’s been reported that just minutes before they disappeared Ana rang her boyfriend’s phone at 2.57pm.

It was answered by one of Mr Maughan’s brothers who heard the young woman screaming “help, help, help” and the sound of choking.

It is reported other voices could be heard in the background before the phone cut off.
