MALANG SARR has spelled out exactly why Chelsea must keep hold of Antonio Rudiger.
The Germany international scored the only goal of the game in last night’s Carabao Cup semi-final second leg win against Tottenham to secure a place in next month’s Wembley showpiece.
Rudiger is out of contract in the summer and is yet to accept any of Chelsea’s advances, with Europe’s leading clubs desperate to lure him away from Stamford Bridge.
But the centre-back, who could earn upwards of £300,000 a week as a free agent, is believed to be happy to commit his future to the club if they can meet his personal demands.
Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are all in the race for Rudiger, but Thomas Tuchel is desperate to see him stay.
And Sarr has revealed what a key figure the 28-year-old is at the club.
