Brilliant Beale Keeps Wasps Buzzing On Top

KURTLEY Beale may have cost Wasps a king’s ransom, but he gave a regal display to score two sumptuous touchdowns as the league leaders inflicted Bath’s worst Premiership defeat at the Recreation Ground for four years.

The Wallaby full-back has yet to decide whether he stays another season at Wasps or returns home to Australia, but there was an irresistible fizz about Beale’s attacking running that speaks volumes for how much he is enjoying the experience.

Beale’s tries, one midway through the first half and the other 15 minutes from the end, emphasised not only the gulf in attacking execution between Wasps and Bath, but the exceptional individual talent that Wasps have harnessed.

Beale, Willie Le Roux, Danny Cipriani and Christian Wade – who scored the opening try – were inventive and incisive, where Bath were so unadventurous that their staple response was simply to boot the ball back to Wasps.
