Cooper's In The Hunt For Mr ‘Ruthless'

Rovers desperate to find cutting edge
MARK Cooper will be on the hunt for a “ruth-less” striker in the January sales after lamenting the wasteful finishing from his misfiring Forest Green Rovers side in their defeat at Northampton.
Rovers have won only one in eight games after Sam Hoskins’ scrappy goal late in the first half proved the difference between the two promotion contenders.
Cooper’s side hit the woodwork three times and also saw another good chance go to waste when David Cornell denied Jack Aitchison.
“It wasn’t a tight game, it was a one-sided game, in my opinion, certainly in the second half,” said Cooper. “But you can’t miss as many chances as we did and expect to win.
“We got in the right positions, we had brilliant chances and we hit their woodwork three times. Players have to score when they get into those positions.
“You can’t lose that game. We had so much of the ball and so many chances, but I’ve said to the players that I have to get things right in January and get players in that are ruthless.
