Eagle boys team ready for playoff push

BLUE HILL—The George Stevens Academy boys team has made a tradition of being in the title mix during the last five seasons in the high school boys basketball tournament at the Cross Insurance Center.
This season is no different, as the number four ranked team in Class C North is ready to compete again in Bangor.
Though the team’s preliminary game against Bucksport was scheduled for February 12, after print deadline, the Eagles were confident going into the matchup after beating the Golden Bucks handily twice during the regular season.
The Eagles are poised to take on the winner of Fort Fairfield and Penobscot Valley, two teams George Stevens Academy did not face during the regular season. Head coach Dwayne Carter has done his homework, though, and has scouted both teams in preparation of the potential quarterfinal match-up.
