President of Brazil H.E. Mr. Jair Bolsonaro paid a State Visit to India from 24-27 January 2020 at the invitation of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

The first state visit of President Bolsonaro to India as the Chief Guest at India’s Republic Day Parade on 26 January 2020 reflected the importance attached to the relationship.
President Bolsonaro was accorded a ceremonial welcome on 25 January 2020 at the forecourt of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi. President Bolsonaro also paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi, Father of the Nation, at Rajghat. President Ramnath Kovind hosted a Banquet in honour of the Brazilian President. Vice President of India, Shri Venkaiah Naidu and External Affairs Minister Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar called on the President of Brazil.
