Paul Simon was the son of first-generation American immigrants and had an aptitude for music right from his childhood. He partnered his friend Art Garfunkel when he was 11. They started producing music together whilst they were in school and in college. Paul Simon studied English while Garfunkel studied mathematics. However, music was their first passion.
