How important do you think looking sexy is, for an actress? 

It depends on what looking sexy means. I think, when you are deep into your work and you are confident and want to work hard, and you are honest about it, there is an aura you build. And that aura is sexy for me.

How much would you rate yourself on the hotness quotient? 

This is not fair yaar! You can’t be asked to rate yourself. You should ask other people. I don’t know, some days zero or two or something, and there are some days when I’m 12 (laughs).

Amongst the current lot of actresses, who do you feel ranks at the top of the hotness quotient? 

Oh man! There are so many. Sometimes it is Deepika (Padukone) who I think is so gorgeous and beautiful. I also find Kangana (Ranaut) very hot sometimes, she dresses so well. She is such a good performer. I loved her in Tanu Weds Manu Returns and Queen. So, both of them.

Do you feel that nowadays, skin show is the new pass to Bollywood? When was it not? 

There have always been two sides to Bollywood, and skin show has always been there.

But wouldn’t you agree that skin show has now increased? 

I disagree. Maybe, today, showing a certain part of your body is regarded with an ‘Oh my God!’ 10 years ago, something else was regarded like that, so it’s the same. I don’t think it has changed, but there are lot of people who also appreciate an actor to be an actor. Like Smita Patil was very well appreciated in her time, and she wasn’t anything like that. So I think it was always there and also not there.

If a script demands a nude scene, will you be open to doing it? 

Of course, I have done nudity before, and I have never had an issue with it.
